(1 to use and two to store for the future) I didn't have a can to open for a few weeks after I got it but my wife told me that this opener "didn't work". I wasn't sure if she was using it wrong or something but I finally used it yesterday. The opener slips and breaks its grip over and over. I was really bummed with it. I wrote a bad review. Then, about a week later I noticed that the screw was loose on the little wheel. I tightened it with a phillips screw driver. It seems to work fine now. So, it is pretty good. Just make sure you have a screw driver, just in case.

Replaced my old can opener with this SUPER OPENER. It actually opens a standard can in ten or eleven half-turns (instead of 17 to 20 half-turns of the standard opener I’ve been using.) Easy to hold; easy to use. Very affordable. Durable, but would not hesitate to buy another one of these for myself or for a house-warming gift, etc. I’m over 75 and have lived through a lot of can openers. This one is definitely a keeper.. I have Dupuytrens Contractors in both hands (a medical condition you would have to look up if you don’t have it.) No pain, no strain. I’m so glad I bought this item.

Now that I read all the one star reviews, I realize I got a lemon as well. Exact same issue, you grip and pierce the can and the can opener stops working after half turn of the knob. Luckily we were able to eventually chew through the lid so we could eat tonight but I’m totally returning it.

UPDATED --- I got the replacement and it works great. 4 stars because of the initial lemon that was shipped.

Pretty expensive for a manual can opener but man does it work well. I like a good tool and this thing goes through any can effortlessly. Highly recommended.
